colour control picture

We are surrounded by colour and though we may be unaware, it has the power to affect our moods, our choices, our skills and even our health.

It can be difficult to take full control of our lives with these ‘hidden’ influences at play.

Understanding the energy that colours emit, and helping our kids do the same, is the first step towards regaining that control.

It soothes our souls, changes our heartbeat, triggers emotions, ignites memories and that’s just the beginning of the magic of music.

Music reduces stress, increases joy and has been proved to accelerate brain development in children exposed to it regularly.

Did you know that the same chemicals that are released during sex and eating are released when you are engaged in a creative activity?

The reward centre in your brain releases a neurotransmitter called dopamine when you do something pleasurable.

IS YOUR SHIELD ACTUALLY HURTING YOU?

NEGATIVITY SHIELD PICTURE

Have you ever found yourself trying so hard not to sound boastful that you highlight to others what you think your life is lacking?

ANONYMOUS KINDNESS, THE BEST GIFTS THIS SEASON

kindness quirky quest picture

The final Quirky Quest for 2015 is all about kindness.

Those of you who have been following my Quirky Quests journey this year will know I’ve had success and…….stepping stones – my words for failure.

I started with an experiment to gauge if Sydney was indeed the friendly city proclaimed during the “friendly” 2000 Olympic Games – The Hello Sydney Experiment.

While it wasn’t a proper experiment (scientists would cringe to see the lack of structure used in this test) I came away confident that Sydney was indeed a very friendly city.

Learning a Language taught me more about goal setting than it did about German – probably more important lessons were learned than the initial quest was aiming for.

Painting a Picture, my latest endeavour has been fun and educational. The fun is obvious – painting is a joy.

Do you sweat the small stuff? Can a bad hair day send you into a rage? Will a broken nail bring on a tantrum?

Be honest, most of us have succumbed to the temptation to lose control and react badly over relatively minor mishaps.

Those little specks of disappointment can grow into mutinous mountains quite fast.
