Want to keep the kids delighted during the school holidays, without breaking the budget?
It can be a challenging task if the weather is too wet and cold for outdoor play and you want to limit their time in front of screens.
Why not plan a few creative projects to do with them?
Don’t know where to start?
Here are 25 super fun and easy craft ideas to get you started.
BEST CRAFT CURES FOR HOLIDAY HEADACHES
A lot of the parents who book their children into Wacky Workshops tell me they are not creative at all and cannot help their kids do arts and crafts.
I believe that everyone is creative – we just need to tap into it. Creativity isn’t some kind of talent given to a select few. It’s a thing that can be encouraged and nurtured in all of us. The best news? The more we do it, the more creative we become.
However, I appreciate that parents are super busy. Finding the time to pursue creative projects with kids can be challenging – and sometimes expensive.
That’s why the crafts listed each only take between 10 and 15 minutes to make. Most can be made with materials you would generally throw out. The crafts work for kids from ages four to 10 and you can modify them more for younger and older children. The younger kids will need extra help and the older ones can have the freedom to express their own individuality by adding their unique style to the projects.
BEST CRAFT CURES – REMARKABLE RECYCLING
I tell my students they are world superheroes whenever they come up with craft projects using things we would normally throw away.
I usually guide them through a few planned projects first. Then get them to choose recycles from a big crate and come up with their own ideas.
This is so good to promote imagination and creativity.
Encouraging children to create their own art using nature as a medium helps them to appreciate their environment, think outside the box and can even help make kids thrive.
