If 2020 was the year so many had to give up so much, let’s make 2021 the year to never give up.
We could all be forgiven for wanting to ‘play opposites’ this year and we have it within our power to make that happen.
Regardless of what is happening around us.
The spread of COVID 19 throughout the world last year meant we were all forced to give things up to different degrees.
Almost all of us had to give up various forms of freedom for at least part of the year.
Some were forced to give up much more.
Those of us lucky to survive the pandemic on a physical level may be hanging onto mental health by just a few threads.
The fear and isolation ignited by the crisis have left many feeling despondent and unmotivated.
But with a new year comes new hope and new opportunities.
It offers us the chance to re-examine our lives and take back some control. And while we may not be able to control all that happens around us, we have total control of how we choose to react. That choice is, in fact, our superpower.
When we have the chance to look back on 2020, we will find examples everywhere of those who took up the mantra to never give up.
We’ll see it in the stories of those who fought with determination to reunite with their loved ones when borders were closed.
We’ll see it with the business owners who refused to give up when they were forced to close – working out others ways to keep their business and passion alive.
And, of course, we’ll see it in our brilliant heroes who put their lives on the line every day as they worked to help the sick and helpless recover.
As simple freedoms were snatched away from us, many allowed themselves to become used to giving up and it spread into other areas of life. The fear and uncertainty snatched away motivation and the desire to plan.
Never Give Up
Now is the time to fight back. Now is the time to set your goals and take up the mantra to never give up.
Whatever your goal, make yourself a promise to not give up on the dream.
Regardless of what you may have had to give up and whatever loss you may be feeling, you are an integral part of life on this planet and have a role to play.
It is through action that you will discover that role and the best way to inspire action is to make a plan and stick to it.
To celebrate a year to never give up my Thursday Trivia posts on Gleeful Grandiva’s Facebook Page will feature the success stories of those who refused to give up. Those whose determination to reach their goal transcended what was happening around them. You can follow my Gleeful Grandiva Facebook page here. I hope it gives you some inspiration.
In the meantime, here’s to reclaiming your power to never give up.
Wishing you a year full of glee,
